Revision Rhinoplasty
A surgical procedure used to repair or improve the results of a previous rhinoplasty procedure is called revision rhinoplasty. Also called secondary rhinoplasty. Don’t be disappointed by your previous rhinoplasty, we are here to help!
Not every patient can leave the clinic satisfied with the result of the surgery. Problems may arise at the tip of the nose, in the nostrils, and on the side walls of the nose. There may be issues with the nasal tissue, and deviations (curvature of the bone and cartilage inside the nose) may persist. As a result of such problems, patients may not be satisfied with the outcome of the surgery.
This operation may be required by 7% to 10% of nose surgery patients. However, these folks will be unable to undertake this treatment immediately following the initial operation. After the initial procedure, a time of 9-12 months should have passed. Patients might choose to have this operation done later if they want to.
Furthermore, extra cartilage is required for this operation. If the patient’s nose does not have enough cartilage, it is extracted from the patient’s ear or rib area. This is also rather typical because the majority of the cartilage in the nose was most likely removed during the initial operation.
